Second Lieutenant Shahar Kasten was a part of the IDF aid delegation to Mexico after the devastating earthquake in 2017. She was chosen by her battalion commander to fulfill the role of rescuer and was the youngest rescuer and the only woman fighter in the delegation. She is now the Deputy Platoon Commander of the officers’ course advanced training, Home Front Command. Shahar’s account of the Mexico relief and rescue effort will surely captivate you.

Born to Holocaust survivors in Brooklyn, New York, Bernard Bar-Natan is a former combat infantry medic in the IDF. During his time in the field Bernard noted that the bandages provided for wounded soldiers were not effective, prompting him to invent The Emergency Bandage(r), which is now used worldwide and is credited with saving millions of lives. You’ll be fascinated by the story of Bernard’s brilliant invention.

Other special IDF heroes will also join us.
